They work with individual adults and university students who are a part of the LGBTQ+ and/or non-cis communities, as well as with people who are spiritually inclined. They have nearly a decade of clinical experience working with people from different walks of life who feel misaligned due to nervous system dysregulation, limiting beliefs, adverse conditioning, oppressive social constructs, past trauma, and so on.
Christy earned their Bachelor of Social Work degree from Michigan State University and their Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Before entering clinical practice, Christy was involved in community organizing, disaster relief, and supporting people with neurodivergence and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
They use an eclectic approach to therapy while drawing on concepts from evidence-based practices listed below and more. Their main areas of focus include: existential questioning, identity exploration, self-esteem, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic, stress, decision paralysis, communication blocks, procrastination, discontentment, sadness, feeling lost or alone, life transitions and more.
Christy puts a little humor and a lot of heart into helping you feel understood and empowered. With your readiness, they will carefully guide you to find your voice, improve awareness and self-compassion, cultivate affirming thoughts, and achieve peace. Let’s recreate your life’s narratives so you can move forward feeling balanced and whole again.
Additionally, Christy is empathic and a deep trance meditator (channeler). Please let them know if you are inclined to work on mental health through a spiritual lens. They will incorporate modern spiritual concepts and current events, as well as channeled messages they receive on your behalf, while guiding you towards a bigger and deeper understanding of yourself.
"Come as you are and they will meet you there to help you reconnect with your authentic self." - Christy Churchill, LCSW
